Niagara Hockey Summer League 5 on 5 Hockey

  • Each team will play 10 games.
  • There are no practices.
  • Cost is $199 plus HST per player. Payment includes 10 games and jersey which is yours to keep.
  • Payment by cash or cheque payable to NHSL.
  • Registration will be handled online on our site - www.nhsl.ca.
  • Games will be played in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
  • All games will be played Sunday afternoons.
  • All games will consist of two 22 minute running time periods.
  • Registration is open to individual and team entries. The Niagara Hockey Summer League does have the right to adjust rosters to make the league as fair and competitive as possible.
  • The leagues will be co-ed, and there is NO contact in the Niagara Hockey Summer League.
  • All CHA rules are in effect unless otherwise stated.
  • The Niagara Hockey Summer League conveners have the final say on all rules and regulations.
  • Only registered players on team rosters may play in the Niagara Hockey Summer League.
  • Each team will play with 4 players and a goalie on the ice.
  • No replacement players are allowed. Teams that use illegal players will automatically forfeit the points and the coach will face suspension.
  • AP players must be registered and approved by the Niagara Hockey Summer League. A $25 per game fee and signed insurance waiver must accompany the league approval permit.
  • Major penalties result in expulsion from that game.
  • GM ejections from a game results in a 1 game suspension.
  • Second GM ejection from a game results in disciplinary action from the Niagara Hockey Summer League.
  • Fighting majors will result in expulsion from the league.
  • Any player receiving 3 minor penalties in the same game is ejected from that game.

  • Once accepted there will be no refunds.
  • Championship awards for playoff winners.
  • Players must wear full CHA approved equipment at all times.
  • All games will be played on full ice.
  • Penalties will be called and penalty shots will be awarded at the conclusion of the game.
  • When play is stopped due to the goalie freezing the puck or a goal was scored, a whistle will signal the attacking players to vacate the zone. Once all the attackers have exited the zone, the players may re-enter to resume play immediately. They may not challenge the opposition until they have all exited the zone.
  • There is no centre-ice (red) line, and therefore no icing calls. Offsides will result in loss of puck possession and you must clear the zone to allow the opposing team to leave their zone (blue line).
